We are so excited (when are we not excited, right?) to announce our latest event! LADIES, we want you to try your best to make it out to our discussion forum called Girl Talk. The topic of our forum is Wounded Hearts: Healing Our Wounds.

Creating Community Connections Update

We are so excited about our upcoming conference with Saved Hands Foundation! In fact, we wanted to share our poster with everyone. We are so blessed to have Nikea Marie, who we interviewed last month, bless us with live entertainment for our event.

Also, we have had the pleasure of being connected with an individual who shares our passion for helping the homeless – world champion boxer, William Joppy. William has formed an organization, Breakfast With Boxers, whose primary mission is providing meals and encouragement to the homeless community. Continue reading

RETV – Elizabeth Charity Interviews Nikea Marie

Elizabeth Charity had the pleasure of interviewing Nikea Marie for this week’s episode of RETV (Reality Education Television). Nikea is a beautiful and talented young woman who shared her story of how she lived a chaste life, maintaining her virginity until she got married.

Nikea is not unique, as there are many young women who believe in what the Bible says about marriage. However, by her sharing her story, she is able to encourage other young women, and men, who may struggle with the reality of sexual temptation by showing them how an intimate relationship with God is sufficient. “Falling in love with Jesus is the best thing I’ve ever done”, Nikea sang.

“Giving a Job to the Homeless” Christmas Campaign

As we begin to plan for the renovations of our Nontraditional Career Center, we thought that it would be a great idea to get the community involved in our efforts; while giving back to the community. Youth Outreach Services plans to employ the local homeless community during the renovation of our Nontraditional Career Center. But, we need the help of businesses and individuals within the community. Thus, the “Giving a Job to the Homeless” campaign was born.

Fall Festival Recap

The Youth Outreach Services First Annual Fall Festival was a great success. The glory of God was on full display. The love that was shown was overwhelming. The children had a great time. The food was delicious. Our vendors were so friendly and helpful. The entertainment was amazing. We look forward to doing it again next year and we look forward to doing it all again.

The morning started with the prayer and dedication of the property. This was followed by the beautiful sounds of the Gospel Angels of Washington, DC. They truly blessed us with a set from their CD “Turn It Around”. They were followed by John Butler. The afternoon brought on the Greater New Hope Step Dancers and Andrea Jeremiah. We shared a good laugh at the comedy skit performed by Clyde Forcer, as Sigmond Freud with Donna and David Burks as a couple seeking therapy. And finally, the cast of “Love Gone Crazy”, a new drama which airs on the Christian Women’s Network. Continue reading
